Getting in

Doors open an hour before curtain. The auditorium opens thirty minutes before. If you arrive after the overture you will be held at the back of the stalls until the first natural break, which in some pieces is a very long time — Act I of Eugene Onegin runs sixty-eight minutes without one.

Access

Step-free access from Fettergate to stalls, grand circle and both bar levels. Six wheelchair spaces in the stalls and two in the grand circle, each with a companion seat at the same price. An infrared hearing system covers the whole auditorium; receivers are free from the cloakroom against a deposit.

Children

Everyone needs a ticket, including babes in arms. Under-sixteens go half price at every performance except first nights. We do relaxed performances of The Nutcracker and Coppélia each year, with house lights up, doors open and the volume brought down.

Eating

The Circle Bar serves from ninety minutes before curtain. Interval orders placed before the performance will be poured and waiting. There is no dress code and there never has been.
